Punjabi Women Cultural Association (PWCA – USA)
Empowering Women • Preserving Culture • Serving Humanity
The Punjabi Women Cultural Association (PWCA – USA) is more than a community organization—it is a movement rooted in strength, sisterhood, and service. Rising from the heart of the DMV (DC–Maryland–Virginia) region, PWCA stands as a powerful platform where women lead with confidence, culture is preserved with pride, and humanity is served with compassion.
Founded on the belief that when women rise, communities flourish, PWCA has become a beacon for cultural expression, leadership development, and social responsibility. Through vibrant cultural festivals, impactful humanitarian initiatives, and cross-border collaborations, the association bridges generations—honoring tradition while shaping a progressive future.
At the center of PWCA’s journey is visionary leadership. Founder and CEO Moni Gill, a global media entrepreneur and cultural ambassador, transformed a shared dream into a living legacy. For over 15 years, she has championed women-centric cultural platforms, most notably the iconic Female Festival “Mela Teeyan Teej”—a celebration created by women, for women. Under her leadership, PWCA has not only amplified Punjabi heritage but also responded to global humanitarian needs, including leading the first-ever Punjab Flood Relief Drive. Her global reach through media has ensured that Punjabi voices resonate far beyond borders.
Guiding the organization with wisdom and integrity is Rupinder Chahal, President of PWCA, whose leadership ensures that empowerment, ethics, and cultural authenticity remain at the core of every initiative. Strengthening this foundation is Kuldeep S. Gill, widely regarded as the backbone of PWCA’s charitable mission—a community leader whose commitment to peace, service, and humanitarian action has reinforced PWCA’s credibility and impact.
PWCA’s spirit is carried forward by devoted stalwarts like Sadgi Gill and Yuvraj Gill, whose unwavering support and reliability embody loyalty in action. Extending PWCA’s influence internationally, Panam Jot Kaur, Regional Coordinator for PWCA India, bridges continents—supporting women empowerment, education, and social upliftment programs across borders.
The heartbeat of PWCA is Mela Teeyan Teej—the only women-exclusive cultural festival in the DMV region. Inspired by traditional Teeyan da Mela, the event is a vibrant expression of identity, joy, and sisterhood, featuring Gidha, Bhangra, Boliyan, and prestigious cultural titles that celebrate confidence, leadership, and equality. It is not just a festival—it is a statement.
Beyond celebration, PWCA stands firm in service. The association actively supports disaster relief, education, youth development, nutrition, and the holistic wellbeing of women and girls. It courageously advocates against domestic violence, child abuse, and social injustices—using awareness, action, and unity to build safer communities.
Through its global partnership with Asankh Yug Foundation (India), PWCA proves that borders cannot limit compassion. Together, they work toward sustainable change—guided by a simple yet powerful belief:
Together, we can make a difference in society.
